Azul Conscious Movement

Dances and workshops in Ireland · live classes worldwide through the Azul Portal

Azul is the path of conscious dance and embodied awakening founded by our teacher, Amara Pagano. It is where the two of us met, and it runs through everything we offer. We now help carry the practice, with dances and workshops here in Ireland and live classes in the worldwide Azul Portal.

What Azul is

Azul begins from a simple trust that the body knows. There are no steps to learn and nothing to get right. The music rises and falls like a wave, a guide offers a few words, and the dance opens a way to feel what is here, to express it, and to release what is ready to go. Some dances are quiet and inward, some are wild, and most are both before the end. Perhaps you will meet something you set down long ago. Perhaps you will just have a great dance.

Dance with us in Ireland

Our monthly dances in Kildare are open to everyone: no experience needed, nothing to prepare, wear something you can move in. This autumn our first Azul gatherings under the New Together name are taking shape too, and a longer Azul workshop is in the works for later in the year. We'll share dates and details as each one settles — the newsletter below is the surest way to hear first.

The worldwide Azul Portal

Azul is danced across the world, and the Portal is its online home: live classes with Azul teachers on several continents, daily practice sessions, a deep library of recorded classes and meditations, and Amara's own teaching. We coordinate the Portal ourselves, so you could say we're biased (we are), and we've watched people log in from a dozen time zones and land in the same room. Wherever you live, you can dance Azul this week.

Membership and class bookings live on the Portal itself.

All bodies are welcome, in whatever body you have today. Come dance with us.
